Hi, I'm in love with this game. Everything looks and sounds so good. I would love to play it on my phone, tho. It would be so nice to travel with this game. Do you consider releasing version for android? I would love to pay for that. 🥺
hi!!!!! i adore this game! i have a question though,,, why do the candles blow out? is it when i stay in the house too long? or when a monster bangs on the door? that's the only thing i'm confused on. thank you!!!!!!
A splendid game! I enjoyed every second of it! The graphics are truly a chef's kiss to it all! I look forward to future updates on this awesome game! I do look forward to potentially more cryptids to add more variety to the levels!
Maybe see less well-known Cryptids like Manananggal where you have to find their bottom half to salt or like Tikbalang who disguises into NPC shopkeepers to give shady deals with tricks if you ever add that kind of mechanic!
It would also be awesome to have more uses for the sticks and vines, like maybe fixing the door with monsters banging on it, or towards some rituals for temporary effects! A nice bit of extra "Should I save this for an effect/project or get the short-term benefit of the quick cash."
Otherwise, the sound quality is wonderfully eerie to send shivers up the spine, the tension is awesome, and would love to see more of you and your work!
Good game, but the clowns can be hard to find at times, so could you make the changes in music volume as you get closer or further away from the clown more drastic?
Hello, good fan of the game, having put several hours into runs (no wins yet, though lol). The premise and direction of Pumpkin Panic look great! I'm loving the stress of using multiple gardens to maximize money output and trying to balance water usage while avoiding the monsters.
And though I love the game, I really need to get some feedback off my chest. The deer is the least forgiving game mechanic so far, I will say. Its hitbox is a bit finicky, seeming to be more geared towards the back than the front. It's incredibly annoying to attempt to squeeze past it after it blocks your door for a minute, making the shadow creature's timer run out, and the pixels of the air surrounding its butt are what causes it to transform and immediately kill you. Along with that, trying to remember where it is or where it's going during nights where I, with bad vision, can't see anything. It would be nice to have its eyes glow red at night, not only adding an eerie vibe but letting players have a better chance at avoiding it. After all, it feels like the night is more geared towards making the clowns harder to find instead of the deer.
Otherwise, the game is phenomenal. I do get some performance issues, but that's very likely chalked up to my crappy laptop. I'm immensely looking forward to the future of this game, whether it keeps the arcade "die and start from scratch" survival gameplay or adds meta progression between runs instead of just cosmetics.
Additionally, here is the full VOD from where I streamed on my tiny twitch channel. I got to a personal best of a 40 minute run! Crazy to think you believe getting anywhere past the 20 minute mark is normal lmao. Game is really tough! But, like, a good tough.
I saw this game on youtube and it looks awesome. Glad that you are working on expanding it, it really has a lot of potential. Any plans to deploy it to Linux as well? Should be quite straightforward.
Okay after scouring the comments I'm still confused on the clown (He keeps killing me right at 11:00 LOL) I've found him once, but have yet to locate the balloon. Does the balloon drift through at the same time as the clown and you have to find both before he runs at you like Ted Bundy?
I really like the game (despite being terrified in general) but at this point the clown and having to start over again on repeat is frustrating enough I'm going to put it down for a hot minute.
Beautiful work. The atmosphere and artstyle go perfect together. I'd suggest adding a bit more of a wandering tendency AI to the deer. It's good to make it follow but its pathfinding makes it trap a little too much. I also suggest higher difficulties with more deer appearing the more nights you spend in the game.
First, I want to say that this game is a m a z I n g. The only similar game I played is Dont Starve, but I think this can be even better than that since this game has so much potential. I think the art style is fantastic and, in my opinion, the best thing about this game is the fact that the player can only run, you can't really "fight" or "kill" the monsters and I think it should definitely stay like that. In the future, you should definitely look into publishing it on Steam because I don't think there is a horror/farming style game like this and I think that the gaming community would really welcome it. I do have a few suggestions for later down the line though:
1. monsters - the monsters are awesome and I definitely think that more folklore and mythological monster should be introduced, but what I think would be interesting is if some monsters would physically destroy your crops, their goal wouldn't be to kill you but to cause damage to your farm, and maybe you could chase them off with the lantern
2. exploration - I think that something really cool to see is if there were paths that led into the nearby woods where we could find some exotic plants or items, but obviously the woods are full of monsters so it's really dangerous
3. adding a watering animation - I think that its amazing that we don't see the character's hands at all and that it should stay like that, but just like the lantern kind of pops up I think it would be nice for a water bucket to pop out because now it kinda looks weird, I know it's a small thing but I just wanted to mention it
4. lamp placement - another quality of life change would be if there was a button the stick the lamp into the ground, which meant we could have a certain area lit up, but then if we wanted to move you would have to pick it back up, and combining this with my previous suggestion, maybe you can't water the plants while holding the lantern because you can't hold the watering bucket and the lamp at the same time, so you would have to place down the lamp while watering the plants and when you were done you would pick it back up
5. building? - I'm still not sure what I think about this, but maybe if you had to build the farming lots yourself would be really cool, you would place the fences, hoe the ground and so on, maybe you could even build your own wells
All in all, this game is amazing and keep up the good work, I think that there is a lot of potential here.
P.S. I speak croatian, serbian, german and italian so if you ever need to translate something, feel free to contact me.
saw a video played (but got scared and quit) and it's one of the best, the art style is 10/10, gameplay is very good but can be tweaked a little also i would love a upgrade called "shed" it's a small building that you can hide in and it,s beside a chosen farm, it costs 500 coins and there is a closet/wardrobe (?) inside but you can't stay inside for too long, just like in the house. also i can talk polish so i can translate the game
I really enjoy the game, but the controls are something I am struggling with. It's really awkward to have to press F to place and interact with things. I suggest, if possible, offer the option for people to change and adjust keys.
The project is very good, the cryptic... it's great, after playing it it made me remember something I saw in a botany book where the more vegetation there is in a garden, the more species of insects there would be and I would find interesting the idea that when planting certain seeds spiders or other types of things appear. The saving also frustrated me after almost finishing the second night, I read several comments and I support the idea of not giving the option to save but if it could be an item I don't know, something like an object that falls at dawn and you have to be aware, the first morning the crow could give you an indication, or you have to buy it, so that it is also part of the challenge. I don't know if it's a bug, but the door sometimes didn't close when I entered the house, otherwise it's incredible. I wish you much success.
The game is just great. The atmosphere kept me in suspense until the last 20 minutes of the passage (the game was completed in 01:15:37, such a time due to the fact that until the last I did not want to finish the passage and improved everything I could, collected a complete fishing collection and collected all the coins and bought all skins.) It can be seen who inspired the author, this is Dont Starve, and in some places this is straight plagiarism. But on the other hand, if not for this style, I would have passed by this game. I recommend everyone to read and play the game. And I'm waiting for new games from the author;)
It needs some good polish on the controls, but I already love the style and concept. Also, it did remind me of Don't Starve, but goes much further on the creepiness, rather than the humor, which I'm honestly glad for.
I'm going to make it for sure, as the game community is getting bigger. But first I'm working in other things. I'll make an announcement when it's done.
I like this game and it's scary and cute but when the clown first appeared he just asked for the balloon and never gave it to me. The first time I fished, the deer blocked my path and I died. The jumpscares are very good, I get scared every time.
I honestly loved the game and the art style is simply amazing, when i first looked for it i was surprised it was not on steam, this is such an incredible game. There's a few changes i feel would fit the game good though.
First of all, it's very unpleasant to get to the first night and just be killed by the clown, so maybe nerfing it would help a little.
I also laughed hard when i heart the sound the skin monster (forgot his name) makes when he leaves, it does fit well but for someone who's used to hearing that hell's kitchen sound effect in memes, it takes away some of the horror aspect of it.
Let me totally, for sure, be the first to say that this game would be perfect with multiplayer, just imagining this with friends makes me go YES. I know implementing multiplayer is very hard, but who knows, i heard the documentation of steam's multiplayer API is very good.
Would also be cool to constantly be unlocking new content, i like the way the monsters are presented, but the game can get a little repetitive after some time, i've read some other review and i saw other people already suggested this so i'll just be repeating and say that the addition of more daytime content would fit very well.
One thing that annoyed me a lot is that in one of my playthroughs that dark monster appeared while the deer was on my door, so either way i proceeded i would die. That might even happen with other monster combinations so please take a look at that. Really most times i died is because i got a combination of monsters that i couldn't escape from so if that was fixed or just had a smaller chance of happening would be perfect.
I'll probably come again to send some more feedback, keep up the good work, the game looks awesome!
Thank you so much for all your feedback, it really helps. I have to say that, if you have a deathly 2 monster combo, is because you made a really bad move, as all the monster have timers and conditions so they can't really mess you up by rng. If the deer gets on your door, you can trigger him and hide quickly, he will run away. Thank you again for the rest of the useful feedback you have given me :)
Extract the compressed file onto wherever is fitting for you, let's just say Desktop for explanation's sake. Once you have extracted it onto your desktop, click the folder open, and click on "Pumpkin Panic". I am not sure how you would see it, but it is an application type (.exe). The application should run once you have completed these steps.
Firstly, I want to commend you on creating a good game. Well done! However, I would like to address the performance issue, which needs improvement. On the other hand, I must say that the concept of the game is excellent. To enhance the overall experience, consider incorporating a captivating storyline and increasing the interaction with the raven through additional dialogues. While the enemies are currently quite basic, it would greatly benefit the gameplay if you introduce effective strategies on countering them.
I wish the developers the best of luck and success in their future endeavors.
i think that it is already big enough, all my friends that played this game love to talk about it, there is also multiple gameplay videos and even some speedruns. if you add a discord link as part of the game page/update post there should be enough people who would like to join
This is so repetitive it would be great with a somewhat cryptic story like notes in paper telling the story of the last farmer and then a key and map to find where he was murdered.
this is the only horror-type game i have, and probably will ever have. i really really don't like horror games, but the cutesy art mixed with the unknown of what's next all while trying to farm has me hooked! i've barely made it past day one, since i get scared easily, but i cant wait to see whats next!
additionally, it would be awesome if there were weather events that could bring both useful resources but also different monsters too. moon phases impacting gameplay that either can brighten or dim the night gameplay could be interesting too, bringing different monsters depending if its the brightest/darkest night!
as for new levels, different types of farming is what id like to see. like farming in marshes or flooded lands, working with/in the water. this might be a stretch, but maybe even caring for livestock, defending your goats from a Chupacabra!
Thanks for playing! Don't worry about the new levels, I'm making sure that the gameplay feels different than the first level. With new mechanics and puzzles.
So, I love this game. But I have to say the clown is extremely annoying and has stopped me all but once from making it past the first day. I can almost always find the balloon clown, but I can NEVER find the sad one. The music always sounds the same distance, it's TOO dark to see even with the lantern. I'm all for a challenge. But its extremely frustrating having to repeat the intro so often. EDIT: I made it past the first night using headphones, the unfortunate part is a deer got me. I have 0 idea on how their detection works. Sometimes I'm behind a fence far away and they change and come sprinting at me. Other times I'm 3 feet away and they don't care lol I also noticed there was a lantern upgrade which may fix my vision problem. I will let you know with an update. EDIT: I have beat the game. HEADPHONES ARE A MUST if you want to find the clown. Everything else was easy peasy.
Thank you so much for your feeback. Yes, headphones are really important, or at least a good speaker setup. Thank you so much for keep playing despite all the problems. I'm glad you liked the game so much :)
I had a couple issues with performance though I'm pretty sure that was on my end more then anything,
What are the fish plaques for inside the house? One of them had a small cutscene near the end of my run and I was really scared cause I thought I had a time limit.
I'm also really confused about the monster in the well but I'm sure I'll figure it out
I saw a few videos about this game, i would love to see this on console someday. I can see myself playing this at night with the lights of on my Playstation.
Didn't manage to finish it yet (mostly because this fricking clown, if you could make him a little bit easier I would be really glad) but it's very good from what I've played, the fear of literally everything in this game makes it very good.
I would suggest (like a lot of people here) some sort of multiplayer, it would feel kinda like Don't Starve Together but I think it would be cool.
Thank you for this awesome game (and for the controller support lol, it really makes the game more fun)

Hey, thank you so much!
It's about the time inside the house 🎃

Thanks for your feedback.
If you use headphones, it shouldn't be that hard. I'm trying to do something to make it easier for players with speakers as well.

About the time, for me 35-40 min is a regular player time. Speedrunners are getting <16min runs!
I saw this game on youtube and it looks awesome. Glad that you are working on expanding it, it really has a lot of potential. Any plans to deploy it to Linux as well? Should be quite straightforward.
Thank you for your work.
I'd like to make linux support for the final version. Thank you!
I love this game, the graphics, the music, it's all awesome! Could we perhaps get a high score table in the menu with future updates?
btw the well jumpscare startled me, good job haha
A scoreboard would be an awesome feature! Thanks for your feedback :)
great game. Any thoughts or plans for a check point or some kind of save?
Thank you! In my opinion, the level is not long enough to need saving. But I am thinking of something so the death does not feel so frustrating.
I'm glad you like it that much. Just follow the first music box sound to find the balloon, and the second one to give it to the clown.
I hope it helps you.

Multplayer?
Not for the moment :(
Fun fact i was the first person to make a playthrough of this on YouTube.Im reposting because my playthrough is all the way at the buttom of the page.

Thank so much for all your feedback and ideas! It really helps me with the developing of new levels for Pumpkin Panic :)
Cutely terrifying game
Cool video! I hope you can complete the game on your next try :)
i love this game a lot. definitely in my top 5. just a suggestion about a manual save or autosave feature
Thanks!
saw a video played (but got scared and quit) and it's one of the best, the art style is 10/10, gameplay is very good but can be tweaked a little also i would love a upgrade called "shed" it's a small building that you can hide in and it,s beside a chosen farm, it costs 500 coins and there is a closet/wardrobe (?) inside but you can't stay inside for too long, just like in the house. also i can talk polish so i can translate the game
Thank you so much for your feedback! The shed is a good idea :)
RUN🤡
FOLLOW MY SONG🤡Ah I love the game soo much and need more now!! :D
Thank you so much for playing it! I'm glad you liked it :)
I really enjoy the game, but the controls are something I am struggling with. It's really awkward to have to press F to place and interact with things. I suggest, if possible, offer the option for people to change and adjust keys.
Many games use F to interact, but yes, I need to put a rebind option for sure.
Thank you so much! I like the idea of making new things appear once you planed a new crop.
Cool, loved it! 🎃
How do I deal with the Clown, they keep busting down my door like the cool aid man.
When you hear the music, you got to find him.
How can i get rid of the deer? It's been haunting me a lot
You can't. Just avoid him and don't get close.
Thank you so much for playing it that much! I'm so glad! Goodjob collecting everything and upgrading all to the max!
;)
It needs some good polish on the controls, but I already love the style and concept.
Also, it did remind me of Don't Starve, but goes much further on the creepiness, rather than the humor, which I'm honestly glad for.
Thank you so much!!
I have a Question, can we The Commiunity have a Discord Server
where we will be informed about new updates and bug fixes. (Thank you for making this Cool game)
Thank you! You need to find the balloon first to give it to the blue clown.
I honestly loved the game and the art style is simply amazing, when i first looked for it i was surprised it was not on steam, this is such an incredible game. There's a few changes i feel would fit the game good though.

I have to say that, if you have a deathly 2 monster combo, is because you made a really bad move, as all the monster have timers and conditions so they can't really mess you up by rng. If the deer gets on your door, you can trigger him and hide quickly, he will run away.
Thank you again for the rest of the useful feedback you have given me :)
i download the game how do i play the game it wont let me play it it keep bring me to my files
Hello,
Firstly, I want to commend you on creating a good game. Well done! However, I would like to address the performance issue, which needs improvement. On the other hand, I must say that the concept of the game is excellent. I wish the developers the best of luck and success in their future endeavors.
Best regards, PiePero69
Thank you so much for your feedback. I'm looking on to add a graphics option so people with lower end computers can play too.
I really like it. Have you considered making a discord server for this game?
Yes I've thinked about it. Maybe for the future when the game is bigger.
i think that it is already big enough, all my friends that played this game love to talk about it, there is also multiple gameplay videos and even some speedruns. if you add a discord link as part of the game page/update post there should be enough people who would like to join

I'm expanding the game with new levels that feel different to play.
I was shown the game on live and I LOVED IT art is wonderful and the sound effects are perfect.
game with simple and wonderful idea.
Hello from Brazil =)
Goodjob completing it! Thank you so much for your video, it was so cool!

Thanks for playing! Don't worry about the new levels, I'm making sure that the gameplay feels different than the first level. With new mechanics and puzzles.
okay the game is really cool and i donated 2 bucks but please promise you will add multiplayer it will be so good
For the moment is not planned as I'm focusing on more important things.

Hey, just wamna say this is an amazing game!
I had a couple issues with performance though I'm pretty sure that was on my end more then anything,
What are the fish plaques for inside the house? One of them had a small cutscene near the end of my run and I was really scared cause I thought I had a time limit.
I'm also really confused about the monster in the well but I'm sure I'll figure it out
Anyway amazing game and thank you for making it!
Thanks so much! The fish plaques are just decoration.
I saw a few videos about this game, i would love to see this on console someday. I can see myself playing this at night with the lights of on my Playstation.
That would be something fantastic in the future.
I love this game very much!
Thank you so much for your feedback!
i feel like a endless mode would be good crazy for this game and multiplayer
