I think that maybe a larger map, slower character and enemies, and longer day and nights would make it a little bit more disorienting and would enhance the unnerving sensation.
Maybe making the "harmless" version of the deer a little bit faster and give him random movement, and totally random while the character is in the house to prevent some kind of softlock would make it blend more with the unexpected scary vibes of the enemies.
And the last thing that I feel in my (not so long) time playing it, is that some kind of hostility between the enemies could be great, like... the well monster and Larry the skincrawler or something like that.
I'm willing to see this game grew, and hope that you find and least one of the things I commented useful ^^
This is fun and I love the aesthetic. However, I really wish the "follow the music" was better at telling you which direction to go. I keep dying because of the clown. I know what I need to do, it's finding him that's the difficult part. I tried headphones but they didn't seem to help.
I can't pass the clown of the first night! T.T Why is this game so difficult?! It's really cool though. Maybe one day I'll be able to see how it ends...
This was so much fun! I loved the art style and how comfortable I felt until I realized I couldn't sleep. Great work! Thank you so much for sharing your work with us! I'll be leaving it 5 stars. Can't wait to see what else you do!
This is an amazing game, played it with my gf on stream https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1940234259 and it was hilarious, 10/10 would highly suggest, nice mixture between Horror/Puzzle (not so much puzzle but figuring out the mechanics, etc).
Ok when i saw this, i predicted i would love it. It looks cute, it was in the horror section, i love that stuff. I was right. I am absolutely in love with this game.
WOW this is an incredibly charming and engaging little game, i love it so much. It was a ton of fun to have to balance all the mechanics while monitoring the farm. Absolutely adore the style and aesthetic, too. With a touch more content and polish I would totally pay for it!
Amazing game. Great concept and art style. Super fun and perfect game length IMO. My only criticism would be to give players more tips/warnings about the monsters. I died to multiple monsters because I did not understand them, which was fine and kind of scary but awesome! But I recommend adding checkpoints or some kind of way to regain a portion of your time spent before you died if you want to keep the mechanics of the monsters a surprise. It was annoying losing all of my progress multiple times because I could not understand how the enemies worked.
So basically, keep the mechanics of each monster a surprise but add a sort of checkpoint system, or give some information about the enemies before it's too late.
The first warning the crow gives you is great! I am not that quick with understanding objectives though, so this may be more on me. Fantastic all around though.
Same like I went into this game blind thinking oo stardew+horror, crow didn't help much had to look on this page to see how to water my plants. But when the crow said hide I ran into my house seeing the bald monster and thought I was safe in my house...NOPE I got grabbed and killed by the black ghost version of myself.
This was so must fun to play. I 100% hate the deer in this game but Larry the skincrawler is fine. love it keep up the great work. Would love to see a DLC to this game or another part to this game.
That would be amazing, i felt that the game has so much opportunity to grow. I am very glad that you are planning to actually make another level. thank you for such an amazing game. keep up with your great work.
Such a fantastic game. I love farming simulators and merging it into a horror game made something relaxing and terrifying at the same time which is insane. Great job!
I Absolutely LOVE This! You Took Something like a farming game and turned it into a Horror with some of my favorite elements. Excellent Work! (PS; Since this was made with unity, how long will it stay "Funded"?)
Had a really great time playing. From one indie dev to another congrats It's a solid game. Would be cool if in the future you added more areas after you fix the boat with different monsters and different methods of gaining money. like you have to fix the boat several times.
This is amazing. I adore the general artstyle, sound design and atmosphere. Generally you make amazing use of limited assets and animations and I love how much potential you've packed into this small game area. What a brilliant idea for a game!
I think like others have said, I probably won't finish it just because I haven't quite sussed out how to avoid the clowns and other monsters successfully, and it feels daunting to start over from the beginning every time. Since you have a "time survived" counter at the end I assume that's also kind of the point, to see how long one can make it, but whilst the game is haunting and successfully scary at night, it's also quite engrossing to progress through and the fun factor is a little lost when that progress is always completely reset. Maybe there could be a checkpoint system of sorts, or otherwise a little more tutorialization around monsters so we don't lose progress so cluelessly early on and have to battle through on trial and error.
The characters, the UI, the scare factor, the farming-feel, the creepy music, all 9/10 though, really really enjoyed it. Great job!
Beat this today!~ I really liked it! I think once you "get" what's happening and how things work it's not too hard thankfully. :D I love the sound design, art and general ambiance. It feels pretty fair once you understand how everything works. I'd absolutely play more if it was available.
The graphics are great, the music is great and the atmosphere is great, but there is only one thing that makes this game unenjoyable and that is the fact that you can't save, I died several times while playing for 30 minutes and after a while it gets really boring and infuriating
Hi there. Found this game by accident and ended up loving the aesthetic! I was wondering if you were planning on further language support in the future, as I'm a Spanish speaker and I'd be interested in translating the game's text for you.
sorry for the rude comment, I was having a terrible week and expressed my feedback badly, the game is great and I am hyped to see if there will be new stuff in the future, also love the main character design a lot! I edited my main comment to make it less idiotic.
It was haunting at first, but quickly became tedious and monotonous due to constant new encounters killing me without any forewarning of how to combat them. Normally that would be fine, but without any saves and it not being placed early on at the start, it just gets annoying because I am forced to restart multiple times. It sucks because I really enjoyed the art style, survival elements, and the creepiness of it, but its just not worth all that hassle. Especially when it comes to horror, constantly resetting and redoing the same things completely sucks any fear or tension out of you.
Addendum: I mean this with the utmost respect. Please know that this is still a beautiful looking game with great sounds, easy controls, fun gameplay, and creepy elements. I'm just posting my critique of why these things are overshadowed for me.
If you have not noticed, there is a large and growing speedrun community around your game. In the interest of having the keep growing and shaping, I have a few suggestions.
1: Un-randomize Crow drops in a Randomized way. What I mean by this is that drops right now seem to be random on what and how many. If it keeps like this, the top of the leaderboards and most interesting strategies will be kept behind hundreds of RNG rolls.
My suggestion is use Subnautica's system where the random pickups come from a pool that has to cycle though all the items before getting refreshed. (example): 10 Sticks, 5 Brush, 2 Coins. in this case if the first two drops were coins, 10 sticks and 5 brush would have to drop before seeing any more coins. (example over).
2: Closed Captions. Not only is this a great accessibility feature, but it would also help new speedrunners learn the game.
3: Button remapping. I play on controller and having to press Y, A, and B at the same time to plant and water crops fast is jarring on the hand.
4: Ignoring everything I just said and making the game you enjoy making, because you are obviously good at making it.
Thank you so much! I never thought the game design around speedruns, and it is not my priority to improve it for that area, because as you said, I'm making the game I enjoy making. So, at least for the moment, i won't work on that, but, i really appreciate your comment!

Goodjob <3
I LOVE IT but pls add multiplayer
Very great but would be more fun with a Multiplayer mode !
It would be so much fun!

Also, I freaking love the esthetic
Yeah, thank you for your ideas!

Of course not!! 😊
Using headphones, it should be easier! Anyways, I'm working on fixing it for speaker users too.
Mac Version eventually?
Maybe I can do it in the future, when the new version is ready.
Alright! Thank you.
I can't pass the clown of the first night! T.T Why is this game so difficult?! It's really cool though. Maybe one day I'll be able to see how it ends...
After some time, a paper will apear at the left of the door, at the outside, that maybe gives you a hint ;)
I'm sorry to hear that :(
I'm working on a new level, and also fixing difficulty problems with the first level!
Like the art style and concept of the game. Would love to see if additional maps or updates to the original map come out.
I'm working on expanding the game!
This was so much fun! I loved the art style and how comfortable I felt until I realized I couldn't sleep. Great work! Thank you so much for sharing your work with us! I'll be leaving it 5 stars. Can't wait to see what else you do!
I made a video if anyone would like to see:
I'm happy to hear that, and thank you for your video :))

This game is actually quite hard. The deer frequently trapped me in my house which made it hard to survive especially when the candles all went out.
if the deer comes close to your house, maybe you would want to make him waste the monster form to make some distance
how do you make it turn without dieing
ahh i see thats good to know
Thank you everyone for helping!

Hey, yes, I will translate the game in the future, but don't worry about the Spanish, I'm Spanish too!
Pls add a way to rebind keyboard controls, planting on F is awkward, making games focusing on controllers might make PC controls a bit weird
Thanks for your feedback <3

I agree with you, but this is exactly the kind of game I wanted to make, and some people love it, some hate it.
I'm glad you liked the game anyways!
And that's exactly what makes games well known and loved! Making it polarizing instead of middle of the road. So good for you!
