Hey Everyone, relax like DAMN!! Development takes time and if you wondering it is getting worked on and you just need to look on their twitter which is on here. Also good job man take your time to finish it
buckshot roulette got accepted to be released by a company, i assume this game didn't, can you not understand that it's way easier to post games on steam if they are not only popular but also a developing company picks it up?
I really love this game, honestly before knowing about this game I had no interest on using itchio, but I got flabbergasted* with the art and concept of this indie game. Also enjoy the horror and survival games so hit straight to my heart.
I doubt the developer quit game dev. I do thing that he/she is doing something. I would be excited for either a new game or an update. In the meaning time, try cryptid farm because they are both very similar and this game was partly inspired by it.
Absolutely awesome game! Really cool mechanics, simple but anxiety inducing, which is what you want from a horror game. You did an awesome job at this game, beautiful but simple art and graphics, smooth gameplay, the 'scares' are so mellow and simple that it gave me the feeling that scaring the player is not about the actual outcome of the scare and THE scare itself, or the dying/killing itself, it's the journey towards the scare, the atmosphere around it, the sound cues, the limited ability that the player's character has, it's everything that's surrounding the actual "dying" itself that what scares the player, so you have definitely captured the essence of a horror game PLUS it nearly gave me a heart attack. Definitely tested the "completionist" trait I tend to have when playing games, I had a goal and I stuck to my goal which is WHAT YOU NEED for this game, strategizing, doing the right upgrades, evading and maneuvering, and doing things efficiently, so kudos to you, and I'm looking forward to more future projects!!!
I don't play horror games, but this game made me want to give it a try. I tend to add a bunch of horror games to my wishlist and then chicken out before actually buying. What I do play I usually make a friend play with me or, more likely, for me.
But this one? I loved the idea so much that today, home alone, I decided to finally donate some money to the game and play! It couldn't be that scary, right?
I had an easier time playing Outlast 2. I am absolutely HORRIFIED. In the 7 or so minutes after the tutorial I was able to play, I yelled twice.
I'm gonna make my friends play it on my laptop when we get together next! It's going to be awesome! This was incredible! Amazing work! I hope my donation helps the development of Pumpkin Panic! I can't wait to see where it goes!
i adore this game so much but it's extremely irritating when the deer camps the door and i cant get out so the thing from under the bed just kills me, plus the skinwalker was running around so i literally had no where to go. so sad bc i was so close to finishing it. i still recommend this game though. <333
It's a really good game, just a critic, is it wanted that you consume all the sprint just by tapping it once? Also, CHECKPOINTS at least for every passed day would be great
I like that game, but fucking deer... The most annoying creature, and all death by him bcs he always push me to fcng boat and i cant run from him. But game is good
great game by the looks of it, shame I can't download it on my Mac for some reason. seen plenty of play throughs of it. multiplayer would be fun, and more monsters. maybe more areas to explore and more friendly npcs? maybe like stardew valley/terraria but as a horror game?
Absolutely fantastic game, the design is adorable, I am IN LOVE with the paper cutout style, and the monsters are so creative, I conned my sis into playing it and when she found out what the deer did she FREAKED. We then tricked her boyfriend into playing it lol, scared the crap outa him. A multiplayer version would be AWESOME! Like, with different difficulties. Like maybe the deer approaches faster, the clowns music box is shorter, etc. Really excited to see where this game goes, it's my favorite rn!
Very interesting premise! Some other commenters have offered good praise that I wholeheartedly agree with. I'd like to call attention to a few places that I think could use constructive criticism.
Right now, the clown and crawler have sounds to tell you when they've arrived. I believe a game should still be playable even when muted. A spooky visual just before the crawler shows up or leaves, and one based on distance to the clown would make the game a lot more accessible.
Speaking of the clown, I will admit that I had to look up a video to learn how to deal with it. My first reaction was to stay away from the music box sound. There is a piece of paper on the door that explains things, but that can be missed - perhaps if the paper was placed inside the house? Or on the door.
I absolutely loved the huge circle of paving stones around the well. Even when in full darkness, I could always tell where the well was based on either its fill prompt or the sound of rocks under my feet. That's important for a place that you're visiting constantly. I also really liked that the house stays lit at night, which is good for getting oriented. Very good game design!
Small nitpick, but I definitely think that lamp oil should increase in price with every purchase. If you use the lamp carefully, by the time you actually need a second refill, 24 coins is very inexpensive. Making the price rise over time would build tension and encourage escape.
The other big criticism I have is the ending, or more specifically the lack of a crescendo. The boat needs four gears. Since you can only hold two at a time, I was expecting the game to get harder once the repairs started. I even saved 4,000 coins just in case I needed to leave quickly. The progress bar for fixing is a perfect place for a jumpscare, or for introducing some final test. Not difficult, just tense. It shouldn't kill people unless they really mess up...
I really liked how nighttime, the clown, and the deer made the game harder over time. Unfortunately, after learning from the deer, the game is basically won (unless you make a mistake). I do still like the current ending... I was tensed all the way through, but a final challenge would have been very satisfying.
I may sound like I'm being hard on this game, but I promise that's because I love it so much. The polish is incredible. I just couldn't put it down until I'd beaten it for good.

You download it using the download button, then you go to your files and open the game.

They have mentioned they're working on a new map, but this game is complete. It doesn't need any work beyond bug fixes.
